1-TO-1 PERSONALISED NUTRITION CONSULTATIONS
To decide if you want to sign-up for a nutrition programme with me, and for me to determine whether I’m able to offer support, a free 20-minute discovery phone chat is recommended before booking your initial consultation. Click HERE to book your free phone consultation.
BEFORE YOUR CONSULTATION
Before your initial 1-to-1 nutritional therapy consultation, I will ask you to fill in a health questionnaire and a short food diary, to be returned at least 1 week prior to your consultation. This allows me to research your health issues and any medication you are taking before I see you.
YOUR INITIAL CONSULTATION
During the consultation, I use the principles of Functional Medicine to review and assess your personal and family health history, as well as your diet and lifestyle, in order to identify any functional imbalances that may be contributing to your symptoms. Your initial session will be no longer than 1 ½ hours, during which we also discuss your food preferences, general circumstances, health goals and any values or ethics you may hold related to diet and lifestyle. I will take all these into account when devising your personalised health recommendations, including dietary and lifestyle changes, delicious healthy recipes, as well as recommendations of supplements and lab tests, where necessary.
During a follow-up session (typically 45 minutes to 1 hour) we review your progress and how you’ve been getting on with your recommendations. Changes are made to the plan, based on the review and on any test results, which are explained to you. Any further health goals can also be explored and included in the new reviewed plan.
Between sessions, I’m available for general support via email or phone, should you get stuck and need additional motivation or have questions. This is included in the consultation cost.
FUNCTIONAL LABORATORY TESTING
I work closely with many functional testing laboratories, offering a comprehensive range of tests to determine any nutritional deficiencies or biochemical imbalances from a client’s blood, stool, urine, saliva or breath sample.
Lab testing is a core part of the way I work and can help me choose the most appropriate and personalised interventions for a client. Running functional tests can often help achieve positive outcomes in less time as more targeted interventions can be used, based on the test results. Often clients become more motivated to stick to their personalised health plan when they can see in black and white what might be at the root of their symptoms.
Testing is recommended as part of the initial consultation, should I regard it necessary based on the client’s health history and symptoms.
